Engineering Headlines

The OSBEELS has 2 notable events in the coming months!

This year is the Board's 100-year anniversary and to celebrate this milestone, OSBEELS is hosting a special event on Thursday, July 11 at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland, OR. Registration is now open! Attendees will be eligible to earn PDHs. We hope your organization would be willing to share this event with your members at an upcoming meeting or through your communication channels. Please let us know if we can provide any additional details or materials to help you share this event!

This fall, the Board will be hosting its 9th annual OSBEELS Symposium on Friday, September 13, at the Salem Convention Center. Registration for the event opens July 8th so we'd like to coordinate with your organization to share this event with your members during the summer once registration is open. Please let us know when you would like to receive additional details and materials by in order to do this.

On August 8, 1907, the first professional engineering license was issued to Charles Bellamy in Wyoming. Since that time, licensure has expanded and professional engineers across the U.S. have made the commitment to protect the public health, safety, and welfare. NSPE is celebrating licensed professional engineers with the second annual Professional Engineers Day on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Join us as we raise awareness about what it means to be a PE, recognize licensed PEs, and show appreciation for the work they do each and every day.
